Burlington North Dakota is the oldest city in Ward County.  It was founded in 1884 and was the County Seat until 1888.  As of 2000, there were approximately 1,096 people living in the city.

Although Burlington is only 10 minutes from Minot, it has maintained it's small town atmosphere.  Burlington is a community that cares about its citizens.  It has an elementary school for children from  kindergarten to the eighth grade.  recently, members of the community volunteered their time and energy to put up modern playground equipment in the school yard.  Burlington also has a senior citizen facility. 

Burlington is a GREAT PLACE to visit.  Whether you have lived here all your life or are just passing through - be sure to stop in and see what we have to offer.

Old Settlers Park has been a favorite facility for the surrounding areas for many years.  It boasts of picnic facilities next to the river with an old fashioned walking bridge.

The Softball Complexis another huge addition to the community.  The city hosts softball tournmanents all season long which provides great entertainment for all.  Come join us for a  night of friendly competition.
